The Apurina tribe of the Purus River is known for their distinctly bright green Hapé which is tobacco-free. Awiri is a plant used to create this Hapé that grows along the riverbanks of the Amazon, and can only be harvested during specific times of the year, primarily during the dry season as this is the low tide when the plant is above water.

Because it can only be harvested and made during a specific season, it is a rare and special medicine. Awiri is dried naturally, with no addition of ashes, making it alive.

It’s a more subtle experience of Hapé and is amazing at relaxing the body and the spirit, reducing anxiety, relieving depression, and creating mental clarity and focus. It brings a gentle, softer feminine energy and provides clarity and an opening. Apurina Awiri is a special mixture known as “Hapé of the Light”.
