Organic Ceremonial Cacao de Peru

Cacao de Peru. This Ceremonial Cacao is sourced from small farm cooperatives in the jungles of Peru. The Cacao is Organic, fairly-traded and sustainably grown. This specific Criollo cacao paste is single-origin and heirloom, meaning the seeds have been passed down from generation to generation, helping to preserve the Rainforest biodiversity and support sustainable livelihoods in local communities.

How To Prepare:
Chop the cacao either into smaller chunks or fine shavings. I prefer fine shavings for a smoother cup. For an affective cup of ceremonial cacao, I enjoy 2.5 tbsp of the shavings prepared with 16oz of either hot water or plant based milk is optimal. You can also prepare with half water and half milk. Oat milk and coconut milk are most ideal for cacao preparation.

For an intense ceremonial dose, 3.5-4 tbsp of cacao for every 16oz of water or milk is optimal.

Prepare a pot of water or plant based milk, and add your preferred amount of cacao into the pot after chopping it down. Stir frequently as the liquid begins to heat up, and the cacao begins to melt. Remove from stove when the cacao has mostly melted. Feel free to use a hand blender or frother to create a creamier blend, or transfer to a blender before you drink.

Feel free to add maple syrup, coconut sugar or any other sweetener you desire. You can also add cinnamon, cayenne pepper, turmeric, ground vanilla, lavender, rose or any other spices you'd like.

*Please note that due to hot temperatures in the summer , the cacao may melt during shipping. We have not been able to find an eco-friendly (plastic-free) ice pack solution to ship these cold yet. When you receive your cacao, place it in the fridge for a few hours before opening. 🙏🏼🍫
