WHAT IS SANANGA?

Sananga is made from the roots or bark of the Tabernaemontana shrub, a plant in the iboga family, known to contain a range of active alkaloids. These alkaloids—such as ibogaine-like compounds—are believed to contribute to Sananga’s potent effects on the nervous system, vision, and emotional clarity.

While Sananga is not considered classically “psychoactive” in the hallucinogenic sense, it is known to induce a powerful shift in consciousness. Many people describe heightened perception, inner stillness, and a deepened awareness of both body and spirit.

This altered state is often brief but profound, offering insight, emotional release, and a renewed sense of focus and presence.

Our Sananga is made by the Puyanawa Tribe from Acre, in the Amazon Jungle. This beautiful sacred tool teaches us the power of breath, the power to breathe through discomfort, and to return to our breath in moments of difficulty in our lives.

Sananga is known for its ability to bring clarity, disperse anger, anxiety and other dense emotions, and to bring about profound spiritual awakenings. It releases that which clouds your vision, which holds you back and allows you to see more clearly, metaphorically and literally. It's a powerful, natural tool for physical eye health, helping to relieve migraines, blurred vision, dry eyes and eye infections.

Improving eyesight: Sananga is traditionally used to cleanse and strengthen the eyes, and many who work with it report improvements in their vision over time. It’s believed to clear energetic blockages around the eyes and stimulate blood flow, supporting the natural healing of the visual system. Some also experience a sharpening of perception—not just physical sight, but inner vision as well—helping them see the world, and themselves, more clearly.

Migraines: Sananga has been traditionally used to clear energetic and emotional blockages, which many believe can help relieve migraines. By stimulating the nervous system—especially around the face and head—it may interrupt pain pathways and reduce tension and contains alkaloids that act as a natural pain killer. Sananga also encourages deep, focused breathing, helping to calm the nervous system and ease stress, a common trigger for migraines. Its purifying nature is said to support detoxification and reduce inflammation, offering a holistic approach to migraine relief.

Eye Infections: Sananga has been used traditionally to cleanse and purify the eyes, and many believe it supports the body's natural ability to fight eye infections. Its potent plant compounds and alkaloids have antimicrobial, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, helping to reduce redness, irritation, and infection-causing agents. While intense at first, the drops are often seen as a way to reset and revitalize the eyes, bringing them back into balance.

Dry Eyes: Though Sananga can feel intense initially, many users report that it ultimately supports moisture balance in the eyes. It’s believed to stimulate tear production and improve circulation around the eye area, helping to relieve dryness and soothe irritation over time. By clearing energetic and physical stagnation, Sananga may restore a more natural, hydrated state to the eyes—offering relief where conventional methods may fall short.

HOW TO STORE & USE SANANGA SAFELY

Caring for Yourself in the Sananga Journey. How to Prepare, Apply, and Work with Sananga

Storing: To preserve its potency, Sananga should be stored in the refrigerator. When you're ready to work with it, approach the experience with care, presence, and reverence.

Prepare Your Space: Before applying Sananga, take time to prepare yourself and your space. Set a clear intention, and choose a calm, familiar environment free from distractions.

To begin, lie down comfortably and close your eyes. Place one drop of Sananga in the inner corner of each eye, near the bridge of the nose. This position allows you to open both eyes at once, helping ensure a balanced application.

You can also ask a trusted friend to assist by applying a drop to each eye simultaneously.

Once the drops have been placed, blink slowly to distribute the Sananga evenly. The initial burning sensation is strong—this is part of the medicine’s clearing effect. Stay connected to your breath and body, knowing the discomfort will pass. Make sure you focus on steady breathing, focusing on calming your body, and soley fousing on the breath. Sananga burns for the first few minutes, and is a great teacher on how to breathe through discomfort, much like finding your breath in a cold plunge, and staying present with your breath the whole time.

Many consider this temporary intensity a vital part of the energetic and emotional cleansing process. The hightened sensation typically lasts a few minutes, with your session lasting around 10-15 minutes as the intensity calms.

If the intensity is too much, grab a tissue or some toilet paper and wipe your eyes. Please remember, the burning sensation is normal - this is the medicine of Sananga.

Important Considerations:
.  Do not use Sananga while wearing contact lenses. Avoid wearing contacts for at least 24 hours after use.
.  If you’re currently using prescription eye medication, or have any eye injuries, infections, or open wounds near the eyes, consult a healthcare professional before use.
